While at GRAPHEK, I had the privilege of working on the total redesign of NASW’s flagship publication. They wanted to turn their newspaper publication into a magazine. I assisted in the research phase of their membership audience segments and utilized the information gathered to drive the redesign process. I created the nameplate, masthead, departments, and feature system from the ground up in collaboration with GRAPHEK’s Creative Director. This included the development of a grid system, font and color exploration, pull-quote and call-out treatment and style for illustrations and photography.

I assist and Art Direct the production of each issue. This includes meeting with the editor-in-chief, writers, and other designers. I also create the imposition/page planner that includes editorial content as well as advertisements. In this role, I not only provide critique and art direction, but I also create custom illustrations and mixed media creations for covers and features.
